After years of car searching, I’m ready to make a longer term purchase, worked out a deal and put down a deposit today and will finalize Monday. I’ve definitely gotten more frugal and it’s amazing how I’ve ag onized over buying a $6k car. I’m back to a Mazda though baby!

2s are good, but you must have bought a pretty good one to pay 6k for it.

It is pretty nice, but also wasn’t the best deal to be sure. Manuals are somewhat tough to find there’s usually only one or two in my area at any given time, and I was pretty set on another 2 as opposed to just looking for a good deal.

I don’t think I have ever heard much bad about them. Just reliable practical transport that won’t bore you. But is it as la cking on interior quality as the old 3s and 6s?
If you can find one, manual Cruzes with the only good engine, the 1.8, can be found with higher mileage at around or under 6k, a combo which eliminates their only real weak point, the automatic. They might not be as fun but the interior quality far surpasses any other non luxury car at that price range.
That price is a weird mix of high mileage and worn out newer cars with strangely perfect older cars and lots of crack pipe beaters. It's a lot to sort through. Glad you bought something you like.

It's certainly not luxurious but it's decently well put together for a subcompact. At some point I'll put in a double din for Android auto, biggest complaint is the lack of center armrest but that can be remedied. My old one actually had the OEM one as an option but this one doesn't, seems like there's a decent aftermarket option though.
